Residency programme for visual artists, filmmakers, architects, curators from South Africa

The programme

The SANAVA x Cité internationale des arts programme enables artists working in the field of visual arts (painting, sculpture, installation) to join the Cité’s community of 300 artists for a period of 2 or 3 months. Curators, architects, filmmakers and photographers are also eligible for this residency programme.

Eligibility criteria

  • Be a member of SANAVA or have a practice in the visual arts (film, architecture, curating, etc.).

South African National Association for the Visual Arts (SANAVA)

The Cape Fine Arts Society, which was founded in 1851, became the South African National Association for the Visual Arts (SANAVA) in 1988. As a national body that supports the visual arts in South Africa, SANAVA aims to assist its members in their activities by offering them national exhibition opportunities, funding workshops and stimulating the development of their network. SANAVA highlights the visual arts not only in South Africa, but also on a continental and international level.
