Programme for artists from Palestine

Programme

In a context of acute crisis affecting harshly the Palestinian cultural scene, the French Institute of Jerusalem has partnered with Palestinian and French counterparts to design a residency program that will organize 57 residencies (24 in Palestine and 33 in France). This program is a continuation of the French Institute of Jerusalem long-standing action in the artistic residency field. It aims to support Palestinian artists with diverse profiles in terms of disciplines, generations, and geographical origins. Its goal is to accompany them in the development of a research and creation project in all sectors of contemporary creation.

It has two branches in Jerusalem: Romain Gary and Chateaubriand. In Palestine, the cultural network is dense and includes two other branches: Ramallah, where the Institut français works with its German counterpart, the Goethe Institut, and Gaza. Finally, the Alliance française de Bethléem, the Association d’échanges culturels Hébron-France and the Association Multipurpose Community Ressources Center de Naplouse are privileged partners. The Institute is a key player in local cultural life, contributing to it by encouraging exchanges with France and promoting the mobility of artists.
