Each year, 3 artists are welcomed for a 4-month residency at the Cité as part of the Canton of Zurich x Cité internationale des arts programme. Artists from all disciplines are eligible.

The Department of Culture of the Canton of Zurich supports contemporary cultural creation and implements cultural policy on behalf of the government. As part of the Department of Justice and Home Affairs, it is the main point of contact for cultural issues. With 15 employees, it processes more than 2,200 funding applications a year and supports more than 100 cultural institutions. It promotes projects, artists and cultural institutions, while advocating favourable conditions for cultural production.
