Cité x Musée du Louvre

In the presence of all beings

Presented between September 18 and November 12, 2025, this exhibition brought together five artists—current and former residents—at the Studio of the Louvre Museum. Each was invited to take over the space and produce site-specific and ephemeral works in dialogue with the museum’s collections and history. Each proposal explores the relationship between heritage and contemporary creation, between artworks and artistic research, highlighting the role of presence within the institution and in the art world—offering space to those who were absent, while also engaging with the particular form of presence inherent to a work of art.

This event marks the 60th anniversary of the Cité internationale des arts and is part of the Louvre’s policy of reinterpreting its collections and spaces through the lens of contemporary figures.

Sous un toit

On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, between 6pm and 9pm, the Cité internationale des arts invited the Louvre Museum to curate an Open Studios “Curated by”. Entitled Sous un toit, the event was conceived by Donation Grau, Advisor for Contemporary Programmes, Nicolas Marbeau, Project Officer for Contemporary Programmes, and Gautier Verbeke, Director of Mediation and Audience Development at the Louvre Museum. It offered a parcours through six studios, combining visits, encounters and performances.
