Association Françoise pour l’œuvre contemporaine x Cité internationale des arts

With our partner Association Françoise

Presentation

This research and creation residency programme, initiated by the Association Françoise pour l’œuvre contemporaine en société and the Cité internationale des arts, invites a duo composed of an artist and a researcher to explore the connections between art, psychiatry, clinical psychology, the social sciences, and the life sciences, in the heart of Paris.

The residency offers a dedicated space and time for work, dialogue, and experimentation, fostering both individual and collective research within a collaborative environment bringing together over 300 artists from all disciplines and nationalities.

The selected residents will benefit from bespoke support provided by Albertine de Galbert, clinical psychologist and independent curator, as well as by the programme’s partners.

At the end of this call for applications, two laureates will be selected.

Please read the practical information and application guidelines below carefully before submitting your application.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

The residency programme has no age limit and is open to artists of all disciplines and nationalities, residing and working within the European Union, who have been developing an artistic practice for at least five years and wish to immerse themselves in the environment of the Cité internationale des arts and work alongside Albertine de Galbert.

Collective applications are eligible, but will receive a single provision for all aspects of the residency: one live-in studio, one grant, and one set of covered travel and research support costs.

Applications will be examined by a jury composed of representatives from the programme’s partner organisations.

In addition to assessing the candidates’ professional backgrounds, the jury will pay particular attention to the originality of the proposed research project, the argument presented regarding the added value of this residency opportunity alongside Albertine de Galbert, and the relevance of its implementation within the Cité internationale des arts.

Residency Conditions

The laureates will be hosted in live-in studios on the Marais site of the Cité internationale des arts. Ranging from 25 to 40m², the studios combine research-creation and daily life, and include a work space, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area. Each studio can accommodate up to two adults and one child under 10. Additional fees apply for companions and visitors.

Unfortunately, the available live-in studios do not comply with current standards in terms of accessibility for the disabled. However, we are working to remedy this situation in the future. We remain at your disposal if you have any questions about accessibility at the Cité internationale des arts.
