Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Seeon Hur

Currently based in Paris, South Korean visual artist Seeon Hur orchestrates a sophisticated dialogue between the structural rigor of classical music and the vibrant iconography of Korean Folk Art (Minhwa). Her practice reflects a rare generational lineage, refined through sixteen years of mastery under her mother, Seojeong Park. Synthesizing her background at the Curtis Institute and Yale with a decade of leadership at L’Oréal, Hur offers a unique, multidisciplinary perspective. A 2024 Daegal Grand Prix winner, she was selected for an artist residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts via Gana Art. Following a successful open-studio presentation, she is developing new works for upcoming exhibitions that investigate the poetic synchronicity between music and art.
