Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Curating

Asli Seven is a curator and writer living and working between Paris and Istanbul. Her research focuses on forms of epistemic and infrastructural violence as embodied in the built environment. She is also interested in field practices, critical fiction and co-creative processes.

In 2019, she obtained the Diplôme Supérieure de Recherche Artistique from ENSA Bourges and EESI Poitiers-Angoulême. Since 2014, she collaborates with Arter, Protocinema, Pi Artworks, Galerist and Bilsart in Istanbul and CNAC Magasin, Grenoble and Galerie la Box in Bourges, France. She is a member of AICA and collaborates with Independent Curators International.

This residency was truly the ideal setting to develop a research and writing project, offering me the quiet and solitude that writing requires, while being surrounded by and in dialogue with artists with a wide variety of practices.
