Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Marija Šević obtained an MA and a BA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Belgrade Serbia (2011). She furthered her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Montpellier. Having received a scholarship from the French government, she resided at l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the classes of professors Claude Closky and James Rielly.
She is a co-founding member of U10 art space in Belgrade, working on curating and managing exhibitions and events. She is a recipient of the SIM residency in Reykjavik, Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, and Hafenkombinat in Leipzig.
She won a special award at the 60th October Salon. Her work is a part of many private and public collections. She lives and works in Belgrade.
