Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Visual arts

Mina Squalli-Houssaïni is a swiss multidisciplinary artist and cultural organizer. Her work focuses primarily on sculpture and installation. Drawing on a formal vocabulary from architecture, design, and the domestic (mobilizing elements from her everyday life) and on personal, historical, and fictional archives, the artist develops structures that generate stratified narratives. Her sculptures and installations operate as spaces of restraint and latency; concealing, like a Trojan Horse, a plurality of political narratives. The unsaid, concealment, and anonymity thus act as strategic drivers of formal trajectories and fabulations. Her work has been exhibited at the IOAM (Beijing), Liste Art Fair (Basel), Cherish (Geneva), Lodos (Mexico), Treize (Paris), and Karma International (Zurich).
