Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Alexia Bezain

Architecture and design

Alexia Ghinwa Bezain is an artist and architect of Franco-Lebanese origin. Having graduated from ENSA Paris-Malaquais in 2023, she has developed a distinctive practice at the crossroads of architecture, scenography and performance. Her work explores light, shadow and movement, bringing to life immersive installations in which found objects – often mechanical – become devices in a state of transformation. Through various scenography projects and a number of artist residencies in community-run ‘third places’ in Paris, she has deepened her interest in collaboration and sharing with other artists and performers. Her work also reflects her personal reflections on disorientation and cultural and architectural heterogeneity, lending her projects a sensitive and international dimension.
