Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Ruita Tehoiri

Ruita Tehoiri, also known as Ness, is an artist from Tubuai, an island in the Austral archipelago of French Polynesia. Trained in graffiti, Ruita uses his art to highlight the culture of the Australs, an artistic tradition often less known than that of the Marquesas, but equally rich and inspiring.
Passionate and self-taught, Ruita captures the landscapes and culture of his native island through murals and paintings that incorporate motifs and symbols of Polynesian identity.

Ana Elena Tejera is a Panamanian multidisciplinary artist working with film and performance. She was artist in residence at Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains. She is working on restoring part of the Panamanian film archive at the Filmoteca de Catalunya and creating the Festival de la Memoria, a performance installation in urban spaces with political archive images and sound performance.
She has also worked with mixing audiovisual and performance formats, which results in the piece Bla Bla Bla: an audiovisual installation, accompanied by a performance created for the 30th anniversary of the invasion of Panama by the United States, presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Panama. Her piece House Type 104 is also an immersive experience through binaural sound and live animation.
She is currently working with musician Floy Krouchi on a series of sound performances published for France Culture and presented at the Centre national de création musicale in Reims.
After several years of visual and sound documentation of indigenous rituals in Panama, she directed Panquiaco, her first feature film, which premiered at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. Her latest short film A Love Song in Spanish was in official competition at the Berlinale and at MoMA.
Her first virtual reality film Mosquito: historia de una herida premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. His latest sound and visual installation Las paredes saben was presented at the Ars Electronica 2022 Festival.
