Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Cinema

Alice Brygo develops an artistic practice centered on films and immersive installations, at the intersection of raw realism and surrealist fiction. Her work features marginalized or transitional characters and explores end-of-the-world imaginaries as well as the intimate and political relationships individuals maintain with the urban environments they inhabit. Through encounters or confrontations between characters from diverse backgrounds, her works examine how beliefs and collective imaginaries are constructed.

Her films have been showcased at over a hundred festivals, including the Berlinale, Visions du Réel, and Hot Docs. Her work has also been exhibited at institutions such as the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Casa Conti Ange Leccia, and the MAC VAL. Winner of the Occitanie Médicis Prize in 2023, she will participate in the Nouveau Printemps programme in 2024 and present her first solo exhibitions at CRAC Occitanie and Point Commun in Annecy.
