Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

INSTALLATION
Benedetto Bufalino (France) intervenes in the public space by proposing both funny and poetic installations that invite us to an offbeat re-reading of reality. About this facetious artist who has already transformed a convertible car into a jacuzzi or a bicycle, with some cardboard appendages, into a motorcycle, Arnaud Fourrier, director of the Colomiers Art Centre, says that he keeps his child’s soul precious, while offering us to play with our daily life.
By distorting or hijacking the objects that surround us, using design, art or architecture, Benedetto Bufalino offers a reflection – a game – on the functionality of our living environment. This living environment – the world itself – becomes for him a very personal art gallery, while his works remodel the usual landmarks of the passer-by.
