Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Literature

Trained at the Pivaut School, a school of applied art located in Nantes, Leia Chang Soi made a name for herself with her short film Te hopearaa no Hina.

Both a director of animated shorts and an illustrator, Leia Chang Soi will start writing in 2019, with the release of her first children’s novel entitled Hinevai et le trésor. Leia is an accomplished multidisciplinary artist, with her own graphic style, who does not hesitate to share her knowledge, for example by leading drawing workshops for children in schools and vacation centers.

Her residency at the Cité internationale des arts will allow her to realize a project that is close to her heart, namely the realization of a comic book.
