Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Helen Cohene is a Paraguayan visual artist whose practice is rooted in photography as a means of exploring memory, lived spaces and ways of perceiving everyday life. Her work combines experimental photography, cyanotype, installation and experimentation with unconventional media and found objects. Through images, fragments and materials marked by the passage of time, she focuses on what lies on the margins of our gaze: traces, worn surfaces, ordinary objects and places imbued with sensory memories. Winner of the First Henri Matisse Prize in Paraguay in 2024, she is developing the project Poétiques ordinaires: En marge du regard at the Cité internationale des arts, dedicated to the often-invisible details of everyday life.
