Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

She also studied documentary writing and directing in Paris under the guidance of author and director Gilles Boustani. Alessandro Di Lorenzo (b. 1997) is an artist born in Bari, who grew up in Matera (Italy).

He has created works that fuse sculptural installations with video and performance. His ritualistic actions, sculptures and drawings unfold in a hybridized space at the crossroads of the real, the imaginary, and the symbolic. His approach is linked to an art of metamorphosis, constantly evoking an encounter with a sensitive milieu that generates new possibilities of co-dependence.

His more recent works are conceived as speculative docu-fiction and are often presented as an interdependence between human and non-human beings, biological forms, modern and ancestral technologies that change composition and evolve. They provoke an investigation into vernacular objects and certain marginal realities of southern Italy, revealing the role that small mythologies and everyday rituals play in our society.

Visual arts

Lucas Di Pascuale´s practice develops between the limits of drawing, writing and reading; amongst editorial practice and teaching. His work is informed by the connections between the intimate, the everyday life, the public and the historical. In recent years, he has directed his work toward concerns centered around the copy and the quote, often drawing on autobiographical aspects or biographies of his affective environment in which writing, on occasion, serves as a trigger. Montage, which is another important dimension in his work, functions both as a place of memory and of emptiness. Born in 1968 in Córdoba, Argentina, Lucas Di Pascuale obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees at the Facultad de Artes UNC, where he currently teaches.
