Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Born in 1986, Magali Dougoud lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland. She is a graduate of the Haute École d’Art et de Design in Geneva and the Haute École des Arts de Berne.
The artist dismantles the dominant historical and scientific narratives to find other possible subjectivities. She develops an emancipatory feminine imaginary through notions such as liquidity – as a means of heterogeneous connection –, violence, eroticism, plural and inter-species intelligence.
Her practice, mainly video, but also text, sound and installation, is inspired by hydrofeminism, the idea that we are all “Bodies of Water”. Water, as an omnipresent motif in her work, allows ambiguous and hybrid figures, often in revolt, to create new narratives in which voices multiply, repeat and overlap.
Her work has been presented in various art spaces, museums and festivals in Switzerland, Chile, Germany, France, the United States and China. She has participated in several residencies, notably at the CAB in Tierra del Fuego, Puerto Yartou (CL), at Air Berlin Alexanderplatz (DE) and at the Cité internationale des arts, Paris (F).
In 2021, she will travel to Kin Artstudio, Kinshasa (DRC) with Pro Helvetia.

Konstantinos Doumpenidis lives and works in Athens, Greece. His multidisciplinarypractice explores the intersections of memory, place, and collective agency throughphotography, video, publications, and immersive digital media. He often collaborates withlocal communities and works with archives to create participatory narratives that revealoverlooked social and environmental histories. His work has been presented inexhibitions, screenings, and residencies across Europe. His current projects engage withbroader questions around environmental transformation, spatial justice, and postcoloniallegacies, investigating how communities navigate the cultural and political dimensions ofchanging landscapes.

Douna Lim & Théo Pesso

Douna Lim and Théo Pesso (South Korea/France) work in collaboration since 2014. After their studies at the Central Saint Martins School of Arts in London where they meet, they develop together a common interest for moving-images, performance and writing.
Their project at the Cité internationale des arts is a research around the figures of disruptance taking informational-fictional currencies. They are currently writing the screenplay for a performance-video inspired from the apparatuses of documentary theatre and cinematographic re-enactments.
They are both graduated from the HEAD-Genève with a Master’s degree. They live and work between Geneva and Paris.
