Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Togolese writer born in Lomé, Kokouvi Dzifa Galley has an imagination deeply attached to the terroir. His universe of creation beyond the theater extends to poetry, short stories and tales.

He holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Lomé. In 2005, he took part in the Ruche Sony Labou Tansi in Mali. Following this experience, a Beaumarchais scholarship offered him a writing residency at La Comédie de Saint-Étienne and in Paris in 2009.

As part of the ODYSSEE program, he has done residencies at the Prieuré de la Charité – Cité du Mot, Maison Maria Casarès, the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Sénans and the Chartreuse – CNES.

A member of Escale des Écritures, a network of playwrights from Togo and elsewhere, he has written numerous texts for the theater: In-certitudes published by Éditions Lansman (2009), Dés-espérances (2013), Peau de braise (2015), Un pas avant… (2018), La Réserve (2018), Otages (2020), published by Éditions Awoudy in Togo, Arènes intérieures (2018) by Editions Passage(s).

He also published two collections of poetry: bris de vie, bris de souffle, published by Ponts de Lianes in Lomé in 2017 and Vagues à lame, published by Editions Unicités in Paris in 2020.
