Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Cyril Givort has been working for more than thirty years in the fields of visual arts and performing arts: theatre, dance, concerts, exhibitions… After studying acting and a first experience as an assistant director, Cyril Givort turned to technical direction and lighting design, which became his main activity.
Creating and defending a personal project as a whole had been living in him for a very long time, but he did not feel sufficiently ready to allow himself to propose it. Today, Cyril Givort is undertaking a project inspired by his encounters and collaborations with other artists who enrich his understanding of the world. Combining text (oral and written), dance, music, sound or image is now obvious to him.
Cyril Givort is convinced that Culture is the key to the harmonious evolution of our societies through its ability to question, touch, raise awareness, awaken, make people more open-minded and more “human”.
