Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Music

Noted for his “rhetorical grandeur, romantic warmth, and surefire technique” (Dallas Morning News), pianist Christopher Goodpasture has a growing reputation as a recitalist, chamber musician and orchestral soloist. 

Winner of Astral Artists 2019 National Auditions in Philadelphia, Christopher Goodpasture regularly performs with orchestras and in concert venues throughout North America, including the Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), Benaroya Hall (Seattle), Koerner Hall (Toronto), Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Hall, Weill Recital Hall (New York), Bing Concert Hall (San Francisco), and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. 

He is top prize-winner of international competitions including the Washington, Seattle, Iowa, and Dallas International Piano Competitions, as well as the Serge and Olga Koussevitzky Competition for Pianists in New York. 

The pianist is an alumnus of the New York-based Ensemble Connect, a fellowship program of Carnegie Hall, the Juilliard School and the Weill Institute, emphasizing audience engagement, teaching and performing chamber music. 

Christopher Goodpasture holds degrees from the University of Southern California, the Yale School of Music and The Juilliard School, where his teachers included John Perry, Stewart Gordon, Hung-Kuan Chen, Peter Frankl, Jerome Lowenthal and Christopher Elton.

Rajyshari Goody

Born in India, Rajyashri Goody lives and works between the Netherlands and India. Her research interests include food culture, religious conversion, literacy and literature, mobility and space-making in the context of caste-based violence in India.

Using various mediums, including writing, ceramics, photography, video, and sculptural works made with found objects and food items, she attempts to decode and make visible instances of everyday power and resistance within Dalit communities in India.

Her work has been presented at numerous institutions and exhibitions, including Jogja Fotografis Festival (Indonesia, 2023), Breda Photo (Netherlands, 2022), Savvy Contemporary (Germany, 2022), Goethe Institut (India, 2022), and Les Rencontres de Bamako (Mali, 2022).
