Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Dance
Bahar Gökten, is a versatile dance artist, driven by a free minded movement approach.
Growing up in a Swabian town in South Germany, with a musical family from the Anatolian Black Sea region, it always seemed natural for her to wander between codes and categorizations. Getting to know the Hip Hop culture from a very young age on, Bahar evolved her first artistic steps in an autodidact community where, next to a specific foundation, free style is essential. With her roots in different urban dance styles, she creates out of a variety of practices today. Strongly marked by the power of moment. The exploration of choreographic methods, the building of cross-genre bridges, and the empowerment of next generations, are elementary components of her process-oriented philosophy. Open to unfold dance in all it’s nourishing aspects.
