Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Fortune Rose Gweha Nyambe began her career as a hip hop dancer. She joined Le SOULKING (2018) and ALL SCHOOL (2020), two hip hop groups with which she won numerous street dance competitions. In 2021, she crossed paths with choreographer Chantal Ngondang, who gave her the opportunity to train as a dancer for her joint project with choreographer Landrille Bouba Tchouta, ‘Ici et ailleurs’ (Here and Elsewhere). She discovered contemporary dance when she had the opportunity to perform in France at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris and the Corum in Montpellier. Seeking challenges and guided by a thirst for learning, she was attracted by the artistic projects of LA CABANE DE LA DANSE. She joined this choreographic centre in 2022 and two years later was awarded the Goethe Discovery Dance Prize 2024.
