Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Zhuang HAN (Liaoning, China) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Paris and a graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He draws inspiration from personal experiences shaped by childhood and family dynamics to create rich, open metaphorical worlds. Through the reinvention of LEGO bricks, he imagines a fictional lineage where biology and mysticism intertwine. By employing inverted logic, his work explores complex family relationships, kinship

structures, the multiplicity of identities, and the speculative origins of human lineage. His immersive and site-specific installations closely dialogue with space. Through audiovisual devices, non-linear narratives, and interactive playful experiences, he guides visitors into meticulously constructed utopian worlds.
