Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Lito Kattou (Nicosia, CY) is a visual artist based in Athens. She studied sculpture at the RoyalCollege of Art in London and the Athens School of Fine Arts.Her practice raises questions on the relationship between humans, animals, environment andtechnology, symbiosis and alterity, the representation of the body and its abstraction, the possibilityof its presence and absence.She has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions in various art spaces, galleries andmuseums including T293 Rome, Fondazione Pomodoro, ICA Milano, TRANEN Copenhagen,Artothek Cologne, Benaki Museum Athens, SAVVY Contemporary Berlin, Onassis FoundationAthens, GaMEC Bergamo, the 7th Athens Biennale, Fidelidade Arte Lisbon, Museum LudwigBudapest, Benaki Museum and Deste Foundation Athens.Kattou was the recipient of the Ducato Prize 2019 and the 2018 New Positions Award for ArtCologne. Since 2018 she co-edits the Athens based editorial project AM.printed club.
