Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

VISUAL ARTS
SCULPTURE

Céline Lastennet (France) ceaselessly explores the physical and conceptual limits of the body in relation to gravity to reflect on the realities of contemporary life. Her practice of the sculpture goes beyond the concept of object: it is an experience. This reflection on the experience is embodied in sculptural proposals closely connected to architectures and infrastructures of our daily environment.

During her residence at the Cité internationale des arts, Céline Lastennet (France) began a research on the new networks of communication of Grand Paris, which between ground and sky, expresses the utopian and paradoxical desire of men to challenge laws of gravity while trying to anchor more on the ground.
