Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Music
After graduating from the National Taiwan Normal University, Taiwanese pianist Jui-Sheng Li embarked on a musical discovery of North America. He later obtained a master’s degree from the University of Wyoming with Dr. Chi-Chen Wu in the United States.
Jui-Sheng is currently pursuing doctoral studies in music at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montreal, Canada, under the direction of Professors Kyoko Hashimoto and Roe-Min Kok.
His current research projects Masked Music and The Musical Portrayals of Pierrot examine compositional approaches and motivations in the portrayal of characters from the Commedia dell’arte, an Italian theatrical tradition that flourished between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.
In addition to his passion for solo performances, Jui-Sheng Li has enjoyed musical collaborations from a young age. During his residency at the Cité internationale des arts, Jui-Sheng Li plans to present solo and duo (vocal and instrumental) works by European, Canadian and Taiwanese composers.
