Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Florencia Martinez Aysa

Florencia Martínez Aysa is an visual artist and teacher of 28 years old, from Florida, Uruguay.
Since 2023 she has been a member of the Latin American Network of Contemporary Collecting. Recipient of the FEFCA Victor Haedo scholarship, by the
MEC Uy. During this year he also carried out his residency project ‘Before the child’ at Jabutipê, a cultural space in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
In 2022, she finished her postgraduate degree in Art, Communication and Memory at FLACSO Argentina. Studied at the Faculty of Arts UDELAR: Bachelor in Visual and Plastic Arts. Awarded the Paul Cézanne Prize for Visual Artists by the French Embassy in Uruguay. She receives the Fund for the Support of Art in the Interior by the Institute of Visual Arts for her residency project ‘Control de Malezas’ in Vatelon, Villa Soriano 2022.
She graduated as a teacher from the IPA (2017) Instituto Profesores Artigas in Art and Visual Communication and has been working in the area since she was 20 years old. In 2020 she was selected for the 59th National Visual Arts Award ‘Margaret Whyte’. She has been exhibiting individually and collectively since 2012.
