Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

First finalist for the Prix Découvertes RFI, Lydol has made a name for herself and her discipline, slam, in Cameroon and Africa. She was invited to perform during the French President’s visit to Cameroon, and in 2022 was appointed Ambassador for Africa-European Union Collaboration. Her discography includes 2 albums: Hybride (2022), Slamthérapie (2018) and several singles.

Through encounters and competitions, poetry turns into slam. She represents Cameroon at prestigious international festivals. But it was her performance on L’Afrique a un Incroyable Talent that made her a household name.

With over a million fans accumulated on the networks, selected for MASA 2022, and the Festival des Slameurs de l’Ombre (Guinea) in 2023, she continues to tour the African and European stages, while promoting the PluriElles, Slam’Up and Science Slam Cameroun platforms. She is founder of the SHEroes Association, which defends women and girls who are victims of violence.

In creative residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts de Paris since May 2023, she is preparing her third album and first book. These two projects, which mainly address mental and emotional health, bear the creative imprint of a journey, an immersion into the heart of the self.

A multi-talented artist, she mixes other disciplines in her shows: theatrically, a capella or accompanied by musicians, she doesn’t hesitate to dance on stage. Her artistic approach is coupled with an educational ambition. A doctoral student in economics, her Style haut à stylo writing workshops lead her to coach new writers.
