When words and sounds can sometimes become instruments of manipulation and domination, the artists seek to restore voices to those from whom they have been stolen. In societies marked by the rise of populisms, the expansion of artificial intelligence, and the multiplication of conflicts on a global scale, the voice is far from free; yet the works presented here share a common horizon: its emancipation, both individual and collective.

Emersions: A Living Archive is a long-term project that reveals the unique history of the Cité internationale des arts, a singular place of residence and artistic creation. It is based on the activation of archives - old and contemporary - to bring out a living memory that is constantly evolving.

Comme les étoiles du ciel | Kévin-Adémọ́lá Ṣàngósànyà

Comme les étoiles du ciel offers a reflection on àṣẹ through the prism of parentage, childhood trauma and protection. Àṣẹ, which can be translated as ‘the force that enables things to happen’, is an energy that infuses matter: both the breath of life and the ability to act on the world.
