Le programme
The Art Explora Foundation has established a long-lasting partnership with the Cité internationale des arts, in close collaboration with the city of Paris, to co-construct a new biannual residency programme for international artists and researchers in Cité internationale des arts – Montmartre, just a stone’s throw from the Sacré-Cœur.
The Art Explora x Cité internationale des arts residency programme offers the possibility for artists and researchers to carry out research and creation work in the heart of Paris, in connection with the French artistic and professional scene. It encourages creation in all its forms while facilitating its distribution to the general public. Outreach to all audiences, including the most remote, and the encounters amongst artists, play an important role in this programme. The residents’ work focuses on the themes of scientific and technological exploration and tackles the major social and environmental issues of our time.

Eligibility criteria
- Have been developing a professional artistic practice for at least five years
- Apply Solo or Duo, if Duo together with a researcher
- Be a visual artist, curator or a researcher in the fields of humanities

To encourage the sharing of culture with as many people as possible, Art Explora renews the dialogue between the arts and audiences on a local, national and international scale. Convinced that mobility and digital technology can push back the limits of the imagination, Art Explora encourages new access and public engagement.
Working with artists, cultural organizations and local players, the foundation explores contemporary creation in all its forms and creates unforgettable cultural experiences. Created by cultural patron Frédéric Jousset, Art Explora is a collective adventure that brings together numerous partners and already mobilizes over 1,600 volunteers.
