Residency programme for artists and curators from FUD UJEP Ústí nad Labem 2026.
The programme
The Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (FUD UJEP) and the Cité internationale des arts in Paris have co-developed a research and creation residency programme dedicated to artists and curators from the FUD UJEP ecosystem.
The aim of this programme is to support and facilitate the mobility of artists from the wider academic ecosystem of FUD UJEP and to strengthen their professional development and involvement in international artistic networks. The partners are committed to supporting each beneficiary’s projects by providing professional assistance, networking opportunities and full funding for a three-month residency in Paris.

Eligibility criteria
-
Be an artist or curator of contemporary art who is a current doctoral student; or master study programmes or doctoral study programmes graduate (maximum 10 years after graduation) at FUD UJEP; including current FUD UJEP teachers fulfilling the condition of 10 years since graduation from a master or doctoral study programmes;
- Have developed professional artistic or curatorial practice for at least 5 years;
- Be a visual artist or curator of contemporary art and works in a field related to the artistic disciplines of FUD UJEP.

The Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (FUD UJEP) is a public higher education institution whose main activities comprise educational programmes, creative activities, and public service. FUD UJEP places strong emphasis on supporting the creative and artistic activities of academic staff and students and promotes their engagement in the national and international art scene. FUD UJEP operates the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts as an instrument for the support of creative activity, the internationalisation of artistic outputs, and the presentation of contemporary international visual art to both local and international audiences. FUD UJEP operates within the Ústí Region, which is a structurally affected area and has suffered long-term environmental damage due to extensive open-cast coal mining. FUD UJEP is one of the key drivers of social, environmental, and economic transformation in this region, with an emphasis on the development of cultural and creative industries.
FUD UJEP is developing a residency programme at the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts primarily for international artists in order to strengthen the internationalisation of the local environment and to integrate the local art scene into an international context. At the same time, it offers artists working in the region the opportunity to undertake residencies at partner institutions within the Europe. FUD UJEP has been continuously strengthening these programmes to facilitate the mobility of artists from the wider academic environment of FUD UJEP and to support their professional and artistic development and their involvement in international artistic networks.
