Programme

Chile’s Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, the Institut français du Chili and the Cité internationale des arts in Paris are sponsoring a residency program for artists and curators working and residing in Chile, with the aim of promoting and facilitating their international mobility, as well as expanding their professional network.

This residency program is part of the promotion of creative ecosystems, from a multi-sectoral perspective, and of new technological processes. In this context, curators and artist candidates are invited to design a research and creative project on a chosen theme.

Eligibility criteria

  • Be a Chilean national, work and live in Chile
  • Present an artistic or research project in line with the annual theme
  • Be a visual artist, a musician, a dancer or a choreographer, a playwright, a curator, an architect or a designer

Institut français du Chili

The Institut français du Chili (IFC) is part of the global network of 96 French Institutes under the auspices of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the French Ministry of Culture. As an instrument of cooperation in close collaboration with the French Embassy, its mission is to promote French culture and language through constant dialogue with local partners.The IFC collaborates with major cultural institutions in Chile, serving as a bridge between cultural managers, experts, and artists. It supports and disseminates contemporary works and French cinematic and audiovisual heritage in Santiago and the regions.

Chilean Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage

Its main objective is to collaborate with the Head of State in the design, formulation and implementation of policies, plans and programs that contribute to the harmonious and equitable development of culture and heritage throughout the national territory.

The Ministry is governed by the principles of Cultural Diversity, Democracy and Participation, cultural recognition of indigenous peoples, respect for creative freedom and the social valorization of creators and tradition bearers, as well as recognition of territorial cultures, respect for the rights of heritage holders and creators, and historical memory.
