The Cité internationale des arts, the world’s largest arts residence, has been bringing together more than 300 artists of all origins and generations in the heart of Paris since 1965, giving them the opportunity to carry out a creative or research project in all disciplines.

Freeing the Voices

When words and sounds can sometimes become instruments of manipulation and domination, the artists seek to restore voices to those from whom they have been stolen. In societies marked by the rise of populisms, the expansion of artificial intelligence, and the multiplication of conflicts on a global scale, the voice is far from free; yet the works presented here share a common horizon: its emancipation, both individual and collective.

In 2025, the Cité internationale des arts celebrates its 60th anniversary, marking six decades of commitment to artistic creation, creative freedom and the mobility of artists from all over the world.

The Cité internationale des arts is pleased to announce the appointment of Federica Chiocchetti as Arts and Culture Programme Manager at the Cité internationale des arts.

She succeeds Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez, who held this position from January 2021 to January 2026.
