Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Visual arts

Wendy Therméa is a visual artist who lives and works on Reunion Island. She obtained her DNSEP (National Higher Diploma of Plastic Expression) at the Reunion Art School in 2022 with the congratulations of the jury, and immediately took part in the group exhibition of new graduates at Kab’Art Saint-Leu, entitled Le temps est un Je. In 2023, she continued her artistic career with a two-month residency at the Cité des Arts on Reunion Island. Recently, the Alliance française and the Institut français invited her to a month-long residency entitled Traveling Plant in India. This residency paved the way for several exhibitions to be held in various Indian cities and Sri Lanka.

Born in the highlands of Reunion Island, Wendy THERMÉA spent her childhood surrounded by nature, in a symphony of land and water landscapes. Her childhood, immersed in this natural diversity, inspired an artistic quest to establish a dialogue between the landscape and her own body. Through her works, she explores the delicate and often invisible links we weave with our environment. Her art, imbued with metaphors and poetry, draws from her personal history, the cycle of life, and the perpetual movements of nature.

Wendy specialises mainly in video, creating immersive installations that offer a complete sensory experience, combining auditory, olfactory, and visual elements. Increasingly attracted to installation art, her works become poetic spaces where nature and humanity meet, offering a subtle and sensitive reflection on our relationship with the world around us. Through her creations, she aims to awaken heightened awareness of the beauty and fragility of our environment, celebrating harmony and the interconnectedness of all things.

Dance

Of French-American origin, Thibaut Eiferman received his classical training at the American Ballet Theatre in New York. He then joined Ballet BC in Vancouver and the Ate9 Dance Company in Los Angeles. In 2017, he was invited by Ohad Naharin to join the Ensemble of the Batsheva Dance Company in Israel. Currently in France, he works with choreographers Christian and François Ben Aïm and Oona Doherty. His work has won several awards, and his first piece HHH will be performed this season in Lithuania and Paris.

Alice Vasseur explores the complexity of the human experience, embodied in the interweaving of forms and the interweaving of ideas (visible and invisible, inside and outside). The technique she favours is itself a hybrid: the monotype, a single-edition printmaking technique at the crossroads of engraving, drawing and painting. Her work has been shown in a number of group and solo exhibitions, most recently at the Galerie Lazarew in Paris and the Maison des Arts in Bages.
