Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Belén Uriel is a Spanish artist based in Lisbon. Her practice explores the relationship between everyday objects, the body and the spaces we inhabit. Working primarily with glass and metal, she transforms familiar household objects and structures into organic, often ambiguous forms that evoke anatomical fragments and traces of the body. Recent solo exhibitions include Wandering Moths (Galeria Madragoa, Lisbon, 2025–26), Otoño (Appleton Square, Lisbon, 2024–25), Outono (Ateliê Fidalga, São Paulo, 2024), Panóplias (National Museum Frei Manuel do Cenáculo, Évora, 2023), Rayo verde (The Ryder Projects, Madrid, 2021), and Bonança (CA2M, Madrid, 2019–20). Her work is held in collections including Museo Reina Sofía, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, CA2M, Culturgest and La Caixa Collection.
