Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Architecture and design

Andrew Borg Wirth is a curator and architect from Malta with an interdisciplinary practice. Through collaborative situations with artists and collectives; architecture, fashion and design studios; and public and academic institutions, he interrogates disciplines of architecture, contemporary art, theatre and design. Since 2023, Andrew has consulted as Creative Director within the office of the Archbishop’s Delegate for Culture in Malta, developing the vision and strategy for a new, 6,000 sqm cultural centre in Floriana, Malta.

Andrew’s research interests lie at the intersection between cultural and architectural discourse, currently dealing with the intersection of peace-making and cultural production. He has published previously on nostalgia, public space, memory, monuments and trauma.
