Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Anne-Laure Boyer opens passages in the labyrinths of time, working with memories, stories and the imagination of places. Sensitive to the issue of displacement, she has created works dedicated to the memory of people displaced by major projects, wars or exiles. His films, his drawings, his installations are like rhizomatic words, which tell our common humanity to save from destruction. His work unfolds over a long period of time, in close connection with territories.

Born in 1979, she graduated from the University of Paris 8 and then from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg. Based in Bordeaux since 2006, she has been in residence at the Casa Velazquez and the Rivesaltes Camp Memorial. Between 2019 and 2024, she completed three major commissions for works in public spaces. In 2025, she presented her first documentary film about the villages engulfed by dams in Spain, with support from the CNC, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and TV España.
