Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Josselin de Courcy is an artist born in 1999 in Lisieux, Normandy. Inspired by narrative arts such as cinema or comics, he positions himself as a storyteller and creates his own “permanent cinema” through his artistic practice: an openly unstable and flawed transmedia universe, adolescent and popular, between fantasy and disillusion. Infused with humor and genre cinema, it primarily takes shape through the creation of staged scenes that combine drawing, painting, acting, and live-performed cinema. Absurd or archetypal characters evolve within intertwined narratives often evoking sub-texts of social and political themes and questioning the notions of fictions, realities, characters or the way in which we make stories our own.
