Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Cinema
Liryc Dela Cruz is a filmmaker and artist from Tupi, South Cotabato in Mindanao, Philippines, now based in Rome, Italy.
His movies are thematically related to his origins, country, family history, personal psychology, identity and to decolonization.
Selected and screened in different international film festivals and art events, his works have been associated by critics with the slow sinema movement. The artist is now deconstructing his cinema praxis with other forms of expression such as performance and installation.
His latest work, Il Mio Filippino, studies the gestures and cleaning processes of Filipino cleaning workers in Italy and in other countries. This work also intimately explores the Filipino diaspora’s history and trajectory. Through its analysis of the slave’s exhausted body, it aims at finding ways of erasing the colonial legacies embedded in its body.
