Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Alexandra Kadzevich is a visual artist from Ukraine. Based in Berlin. She graduated from the Grekov Odesa Art School in 2013 and De Ateliers, Amsterdam in 2023. Through painting, architecture, found objects, and writing she elaborates on dislocations large and small––from profound transformations to faint errors of logic. She distills and reinterprets instabilities in material space that define the visible world, and through which the ripple of real life breaks. Minute quotidian decisions, like the way a door is opened or a cane is angled, can reroute entire trajectories of perception. Kadzevich explores the grandeur of divergent possibilities by softly focusing on the sum of traces we leave behind, or are left with.
