Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Visual arts

Hannah Kindler is a visual artist based in Freiburg, Germany.
Her practice combines archival research with sculptural, performative and media-based forms, drawing on historical fragments to examine how power relations become inscribed in materials.
Her collaborative projects bring artistic research into dialogue with collective knowledge and shared experience.
She studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (BA) and the Dutch Art Institute in Arnhem (MFA). Her work has been presented internationally at Accélérateur de Particules in Strasbourg, the Biennale für Freiburg, Campo XS in Genoa and the Galerie für Gegenwartskunst at E-WERK Freiburg. She received the Van Look Art Prize and residency grants from Künstlerhaus Lukas and Atelier Mondial.
