Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Brilant Milazimi

Born in Kosovo, Brilant Milazimi lives and works in Prishtina. His work explores the function of memory, both personal and collective, and its expression in drawings, paintings and sculptures that seem both strange and familiar. Her works implicitly and poetically evoke ideas around trauma, hope, endurance and freedom, demonstrating the artist’s interest in the psychological underworld of Kosovo and the Balkans.
Brilant Milazimi’s work has been shown in numerous institutions, including Santa Lucia del Gonfalone (Italy, 2023), Manifesta Biennale (Kosovo, 2022), National Gallery of Kosovo (2021 and 2019), Ludwig Museum Budapest (Hungary, 2020), and Station Contemporary Art (Kosovo, 2019).
Megija Milberga

Architecture and design
Megija Milberga is a writer and art historian based between New York and Riga. She is a PhD candidate in Art and Architectural History at the Institute of Fine Arts at NYU, specializing in modern art and architecture in Eastern Europe. Her research interrogates site-consciousness as a tool of insurgent citizenship in Soviet-era architecture in the Baltic states. She holds a B.Sc. from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, an M.A. from KU Leuven and an M.A. from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. She is the recipient of the Fulbright Foreign Student Fellowship.
