Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Visual arts

Born in Perpignan, Jérôme Sainte-Luce studied Applied Arts at Rivières Des Pères, then Plastic Arts from 1999 to 2002.

Since 2009, notably with the exhibition Les Âmes Gravées, Jérôme Sainte-Luce has been developing a visual research project, revisiting Amerindian culture, a unifying element of the history and heritage of the Caribbean.

Indeed, haunted by the loss of memory, the artist tirelessly revisits these engraved Amerindian stones and asks the question of the state after the death of man, and thus the question of the traces we leave behind… what remains despite everything, after the extinction of an entire civilization.

With KOLEKSYON, the latest exhibition conceived with pieces from the LESPWINEG series, the artist speaks tirelessly about his cultural heritage and his inner world. Each canvas and each drawing testify of a crossroads between Amerindian and African culture.
