As part of the exhibition To Make Space for the World, artist-in-residence Ibrahim Mahama is in conversation with art historian and curator Kathryn Weir.
This conversation explores the artist’s practice, his materials, his collective gestures, and the way in which his works give voice to shared stories.

At the invitation of the Fondation Cartier, which is hosting Ibrahim Mahama’s exhibition The Harvest Season, the Cité is taking part in the Parliament of Ghosts project. This installation, which takes the form of a parliamentary chamber, embodies the artist’s collective and dynamic practice and will be brought to life through a programme combining music, performances, talks and debates.
Echoing the exhibition To Make Space for the World, the Cité is thus offering a series of talks led by the co-curators and the team at the Cité internationale des arts, as well as artists featured in the exhibition. Following this first conversation, the series will continue at the Fondation Cartier on November 24 and December 8, 2026, then on January 12 and February 2, 2027.
