Presentation

NESSIJ, an association dedicated to supporting the Tunisian art scene, and the Cité internationale des arts have jointly developed a research and creation residency programme for artists based in Tunisia.

The aim of this programme is to encourage and facilitate the mobility of artists based in Tunisia and to expand their professional and artistic networks. The partners are committed to supporting each laureate’s project by providing them with professional support, networking opportunities, and a three-month funded residency in Paris.

The residency programme will welcome two laureates: one visual artist and one filmmaker or one performing artist (music, drama and directing, dance and choreography) at the Cité internationale des arts (Marais site).

They will benefit from:

  • Support, meetings, and networking opportunities organised by the residency programme partners;
  • A studio-apartment (a single living and working space) at the Cité internationale des arts;
  • A living allowance of €1,000 per month;
  • A production grant of €500 for the entire stay;
  • Coverage of international return transport to Paris airports, visa fees, transport stamps, and travel insurance.

Conditions of residency

The laureates will be welcomed into live-in studios located on the site of the Cité internationale des arts in the Marais district. Ranging in size from 25 to 40m², the live-in studios are designed to combine research and creation with everyday life. They consist of a work room, a kitchen, a bathroom and a sleeping area. A live-in studio can accommodate up to two adults and one child up to the age of 10. Additional fees apply for accompanying persons.

Unfortunately, the live-in studios do not currently meet accessibility standards for people with disabilities, but we are working to address this issue for the future.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding the accessibility of the Cité internationale des arts.
