Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Elsa Brès (born in 1985) is an artist and architect. She graduated from Fresnoy, national studio of contemporary arts (2017), Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville (2012) – where she taught architecture theory – and also studied at the University of Montreal and ENSCI in Paris.
Her work, bringing together film, video, sculpture and installation, combines research, fiction and experimentation in order to explore the processes of construction and the political stakes of contemporary landscapes. Each project proceeds by distortion of space, scale and/or time in order to create geographical (sciences)-fictions.
