Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Music

Nazim Bakour is a session musician, guitarist, composer and arranger very involved and committed to the promotion of Afro-culture and creation from the African continent.

A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Nazim Bakour became a professional musician in 2010, both in life and in session. He has collaborated in various Algerian and international artistic projects, having toured several times in Algeria and on the African continent (West, East and North Africa) as well as in other parts of the world (USA, UK, AU, EU…).

Open-minded and eclectic musician, Nazim Bakour does not define himself by a specific style of music, although he was very early sensitive to the musics of his continent, in particular the sub-Saharan and West African music, then to the Afro-Brazilian music and then to the jazz, as well as to the passion of the improvisation. He has always followed the music that he considers pure, authentic and sincere.
