Artists in residence
Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Yosra Mojtahedi

Yosra Mojtahedi was born in Tehran in 1986 and graduated from Le Fresnoy-Studio national des arts contemporains in 2020. Her work explores the intersection of art, science, and technology, with a focus on “soft robotics”. Her sculptural installations in the form of “human-machines” or “fountain-bodies” are sensual works that challenge and question taboos related to the female body. “Black” occupies a central place in her creations, symbolizing the absolute and the depth of emptiness, transcending the limits of time. There is a strongly assumed feminism in her work: she creates universes where nature and genders merge, revealing a political-poetic and unifying message to transcend fragile boundaries.
Laureate of the “ADAGP Digital Art Revelation Prize” in 2020 and the “Talents Contemporains” prize from the François Schneider Foundation in 2024, her works have been exhibited internationally, notably in Iran, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Turkey, and many other countries
