Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Rati Oneli

Cinema

Rati Oneli’s projects have been presented at venues including Cannes, Berlinale, and London’s ICA. In the early 2000s, he developed projects with producer Tom Hedley, leading to the 2008 West End production of Flashdance. His first documentary, City of the Sun, premiered at the 2017 Berlinale and played at over 100 festivals while winning numerous awards. In 2020, Rati produced and co-wrote Beginning, a Cannes Official Selection and Georgia’s Oscar entry that won four main awards at San Sebastian. His short film, We Are The Hollow Men, premiered at San Sebastian in 2023; he is now developing his debut feature, Terrestrial Bodies, and the hybrid documentary El Dorado.
