Au seuil du geste tiède – Silvina Cortés Lasalle

This series approaches the body as a site of constant mutation, where desire, normativity, and fiction intersect. It traces the tensions between bodies and the cultural scripts that shape the transformation of identity, framing it as a continual negotiation with forces both intimate and social.

These ceramics evoke bodies in states of partiality, forms that seem to emerge, retract, or pivot toward alternate anatomies, as if each fragment were testing the boundaries of what a body can withstand. They hold a paradox of agency and constraint: a will to metamorphose tempered by the limits of flesh. Through abstraction, they distill emotional residues, desire, estrangement, ambivalence, creating perceptual fields where form dissolves. Together, the works construct a terrain in which embodiment is neither fixed nor entirely fluid, but shaped by pressures that are social, psychological, and material.
