depthoffeeling presents new works from the ongoing series Models for Worldlessness, developed by Nolan Oswald Dennis during their residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris.

At the heart of depthoffeeling lies the concept of pluri-polarity—a reinterpretation of Édouard Glissant’s notion of “Mondialité” into a vision of a non-aligned, multipolar cosmos. The installation invites audiences to rethink interdependencies, challenge established narratives, and explore alternative perspectives on planetary existence.

Comprising experimental objects, learning devices, and references to phenomena such as polar wandering (the shifting of a pole relative to a fixed reference frame) and the magnetic field reversals of the poles, the installation examines scientific representations, political fantasies, as well as Indigenous, queer, and historical narratives of the polar regions. Drawing inspiration from Tété-Michel Kpomassie’s writings[1], Nolan Oswald Dennis proposes a new perspective, offering resistance to the traditional North-South imaginary.
